27 Nov You need a GoPro? Day 24/30 Ag Tech Talk Blog

Have you ever used a GoPro camera before?   Amazing that is little camera has been around since 2007 already.  Recently have have released the NEW Hero 3+ and WOW is the performance better.  Personally I have used the professional grade cameras, but the others work great also.  Just depends on your mission, many of my video clips have been used in TV so I need the higher grade.

We used this camera “old school” in 2012 harvest, as you can see in this videos below.  In those videos we mounted the camera in various places as you can see in the video clips.  Amazing quality, but really due to how creative the operator is.

In the spring of 2013, DJI introduced the Phantom which is designed to haul a GoPro camera.   We had a great time shooting some video of our fields you have never seen before.

But as we all know technology just keeps getting better.  From DJI

2-AXIS PROFESSIONAL GIMBAL WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE

The DJI ZenmuseH3-2D Gimbal is another milestone in gimbal innovation, which is designed for the GoPro Hero3. With its high precision, high stability, lightweight, plug and play features, it is widely used in film and television productions, advertising aerial photography, etc. Even if the aircraft is in high-speed flight, it can still stabilize and control the GoPro camera precisely with the highest stability. The precision of control angle is within the range of ±0.08°, so picture or video output can reach the best quality.

Is there much difference between the silver edition and Black edition? I’m looking at getting one for just general video capture. At some point mounting it to a something like a Day Phantom. Was looking at the specs of both and doesn’t seem to be much difference. What’s your opinion?

Yes, but only if you need higher end quality. For just general use, website, youtube, etc Silver would be just fine.

Yes, just little better camera quality for video and stills is the major difference between them.
